On Tuesday 18 May 2021 we held the inaugural Generous South Australians Evening at The Lab, which is part of a new and exciting social enterprise venue at Light ADL at Light Square. Our thanks go to our hard working Grants assessment committee, chaired by David Walker for their work in assessing all the applications. Congratulations to our shortlisted charities and thank you to everyone who applied. It was a difficult task to select the final 12 as there were so many incredible projects and worthwhile causes.
Members Ross Dillon, Chloe Kempe and Carla Grace Ollwitz formed part of our Generous South Australians panel, to discuss the causes they support and why they give. Carla, a professional wildlife artist had her beautiful lifelike artwork illuminated from The Lab’s screens on the night. As well, our Young Impact ambassadors Gina Wang and Gigi Varley told guests about this new opportunity for school aged children to learn about philanthropy. Thank you to our wonderful Events Committee Nickki Hamdorf and Jackie Newton for organising the night.
