Impact100 SA congratulates Grandparents for Grandchildren SA and United Way SA as last night’s winners of the 2019 $100,000 high impact grants as awarded by our members.
Both organisations beat tough competition to win the grants at the well-attended fifth Impact100 SA Grant Announcement Evening held at the Arkaba Hotel.
Grandparents for Grandchildren will use their grant to better support grandparents and other kinship carers with the demands of caring for and raising their grandchildren. Members heard first-hand from grandparent Maxine about how the organisation works to provide financial, legal and emotional support.
United Way SA will use their grant to continue their work running an early literacy program that provides book packs to children aged birth to five years living in disadvantaged communities across South Australia.
Thoroughly deserving Sammy D Foundation and Raising Literacy were both awarded $20,000 grants, with both organisations using their grants to continue fostering stronger local communities.
It was a pleasure to hear from Impact100 SA Ambassadors Jane Doyle and Raymond Spencer about the value of giving back to your community and announce the 2019 grant winners. It was also an honour to have one of our biggest supporters and the Governor of South Australia, Hieu Van Le AC in attendance.
To host such great events we rely on the ongoing generosity of our sponsors. Special thanks go to the Arkaba Hotel, Adelaide Big Band, Hughes PR, Studio Shubin Photography, O’Leary Walker, Coopers, Visualcom, XL Lights, Peter Van the Party Man and Jam Factory.
We again thank all of our members whose generosity is empowering deserving organisations to make a real difference to the lives of South Australians.
