Impact100 SA is for all South Australians and is excited to have Georgie and James McKay from the Southeast support us this year. Georgie and James are no strangers to philanthropy, having given back to their local community of Lucindale in the Southeast of SA for many years. From golf, tennis & footy clubs, to the local agricultural and horticultural Show, the Lucindale Area School, the Country Fire Service, as well as many other local committees! They’re also widely connected throughout the region due to their commitment to the agricultural sector and philanthropic pursuits.
Georgie and James are long term supporters of the Stand Like Stone Foundation, a community foundation that serves the Limestone Coast region. Georgie was CEO of the foundation for over eight years and has recently joined the Board. She is a former Non-Executive Director and Treasurer of Community Foundations Australia, the peak body for Community Foundations in Australia, and relished the opportunity to serve on the Board to grow & advocate for the sector on a national level. Her passion and advocacy for DGR reform for Community Foundations was instrumental in bringing much-needed reform in this area. Georgie was the 2016 Recipient of the ‘Australian Community Philanthropy Award for Excellence & Achievement’ and has facilitated and presented at many NFP sector events.
The Jodi Lee Foundation is also one of their passions. Jodi was a dear friend of James and Georgie’s who lost her life to bowel cancer in 2010 at the age of 40. The foundation was established in her memory to raise awareness and assist in the early detection & prevention of bowel cancer. James is a member of the JLF $20K Club, having individually raised over $20,000 for the foundation.
James and Georgie are excited to re-join Impact100 SA after a hiatus.
Giving circles are such a powerful vehicle for creating instant impact. We have loved watching the growth of Impact100 in South Australia and following the projects that have received support. We are so excited to be back!
