We are thrilled to welcome Karen Hayes AM DSJ as a new member of Impact100 SA. Karen has recently relocated to Adelaide with her husband Graeme, after many years of living and working as a corporate professional in Melbourne. Karen is no stranger to the community sector and not-for-profit world, having been CEO of Guide Dogs Victoria and was successful in managing a $30 million capital campaign to create Australia’s first sensory campus, a facility aimed at improving the lives of people living with blindness or low vision.
Karen was also one of the founders of the Breast Cancer Network Australia and co-founder of the Australian chapter of the International Women’s Forum and as a board member of the Melbourne Football Club, spearheaded their strategy for women’s football.
Among her many honours, Karen was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2021 and made a Dame of the Order of St John in 2019.
I give because it helps me to broaden my perspective on some of the innovative and life changing work being done by people who want to make a difference. I support Impact 100 because of the powerful difference that a collective group of like-minded and committed people can make for others and our community.
We’re honoured to have you as part of our Impact100 collective, Karen. Thank you.
