Accountant Sylvia Toop, together with her husband, Anthony, founded Toop+Toop Real Estate over 35 years ago in Adelaide. Sylvia and Anthony have now stepped back from the day-to-day management of the business, and following a cancer scare for Anthony a few years ago, now try to “seize the day” as much as they can – be it driving around Australia, spending time at their “Battunga” vineyard property, spending time with grandchildren or hosting friends and family at their Coolum getaway.
Sylvia and Anthony are passionate supporters of children’s charities, in particular Variety Club, and for decades, they have spent their weekends at charity auction nights, with Anthony donating his time as a charity auctioneer, for hundreds of charities around Adelaide. Sylvia is also passionate about ending homelessness and has supported Catherine House over the last 20 years in organising and hosting fundraising events.
Sylvia says that she was attracted to the collective giving model of Impact100 SA, knowing that her donation can be transformative when combined with others, whereas on its own, can do very little. Sylvia also says that she is looking forward to finding out more about the grassroots charities that we support and meeting other people in our giving community.
