Each year, the Impact100 SA Management Committee pauses to reflect, refresh and renew, to ensure we can continue to be of relevance to our members and service to our community.
This year we reflected by holding a strategy planning night in September, having first consulted with members in our survey and had discussions with past grantees.
As a result of feedback from grantees who told us that our application process can be very onerous for small, grassroots organisations with no or few paid staff, we are now simplifying the initial expression of interest form. We will also offer more assistance to these groups when making applications.
We also aim to refresh our operations and processes and renew our committees each year, in order to be sustainable and effective.
This year we farewelled our founding Management Committee member and secretary, Julia Steele Scott, a passionate supporter of and cheerleader for Impact100 SA. Julia and JM Philanthropy will still continue to support the Grant Assessment Committee through their sponsorship of the Grant Toolbox software and their provision of meeting rooms and advice.
We also farewell Ailsa Young, our hardworking and extremely professional chair of the Grants Assessment Committee. Ailsa has been ably assisted this year by fellow Grants Assessment committee members: Marilyn Chambers, Noel Grieve, David McGlennon, Julia Pitman, Clare Randall, Dave Stock, Simon Tiddy and David Walker who will be replacing Ailsa as chairperson and Management Committee member representative.
We are grateful to all volunteers, and especially to our retiring members Marilyn Chambers and Dave Stock, who after five years of service are retiring, and in their place we welcome new volunteers, Kiah Elsworthy and Mike Stevens.
Thanks also go to our Membership Committee chairperson Phil Rundle for his extensive network of generous friends and his ongoing enthusiasm and support for Impact100 SA, along with his committee of Geoff Day, Geoff Walsh, Natalie Fuller, Rachael McEvoy and Kathryn House.
We are extremely appreciative of the hard work done by our Events Committee in organising events on a shoestring and with little or no budget. Our thanks go to Jackie Newton as chair, enthusiastically and efficiently assisted by Nikki Hamdorf and Louisa Zerella and other volunteers as needed.
Thanks also go to our Communications and PR Committee, which includes our chair Justine Crawford, Haley Tamblyn, Ellen Edmonds-Wilson and Kathryn House who are responsible for all the emails you receive, including this eNews, as well as making website and social media updates, developing membership surveys and replying to enquiries, and Haley and Hughes PR for the production of a promotional video.
We are indebted to the following dedicated and hardworking members of the Management Committee for 2020-21:
