As members may recall, this year we departed from our usual practice of voting for a theme for our grant applications and instead invited our members to nominate their favourite charities and not-for-profits who they believed were doing great work in our community and for whom a $100,000 grant would be transformative.
While this process enabled some smaller, grassroots organisations to receive recognition, including several working internationally, when we surveyed members for feedback on the process, the majority of members said for the coming year they would prefer a theme, and that they wanted to support SA-based organisations only and would favour a COVID support project.
As a result, we now invite you to consider the following four suggested themes for 2021 which are based on creating kinder, stronger and more connected communities where:
