Our impressive Young Impact social entrepreneurs have been spending the last few months fundraising for their upcoming Grants Day, which this year will be held at the University of South Australia on Sunday 18 August.
Activities have included a school fair, a film afternoon, a disco, collecting recycling, a bake sale, collection jars at Grill’d Norwood, making jewellery and selling firewood to mention just a few fundraisers.
We love that our young philanthropists are not only learning about the important role that the “for purpose” sector plays in our society, but they are also volunteering and learning great skills in event planning, public speaking, budgeting, while also having fun!
We are grateful once again this year to the Lang Family Foundation who have pledged to match funds raised for St John’s Youth Services, Treasure Boxes, and With Love Formal Wear by the students, the students voting for how they would like the funds distributed after hearing a pitch from all three organisations. Since Young Impact was created in 2021, Young Impact has raised awareness and a total of $36,875.75 for nine different community organisations in South Australia and after this month’s Grants Day, anticipate that we will have raised awareness of over $50,000 for 12 charities.
From little things, big things are growing!
