Young Impact100 SA Launch

We were thrilled to launch our Young Impact100 SA on May 1 – an initiative to grow philanthropy and explore social impact among school aged children.

60 amazing young people, future leaders, community builders and philanthropists gathered at Seymour College to discuss ways they could be part of collective giving and making a positive difference in our community.

Thank you to everyone who supported our launch, including Seymour College.

Our Young Impact members had the opportunity on the day to learn about the importance of philanthropy and the role charities and not for profit play in our community.

After hearing about eight amazing local organisations doing incredible work, our Young Impact members had the opportunity to vote for their favourite three charities – AusOcean, Backpacks for SA Kids and Lion Hearts Learning.

On the day, the attendees worked together to plan ways they could fundraise for these charities. Their ideas included selling toys, washing cars, making and selling jewellery, holding cupcake stalls, being sponsored to climb Mt Lofty, dog walking, asking for donations in lieu of birthday presents and one young entrepreneur is planning on selling hugs!

Their next event will be a virtual meeting on Sunday 4 June where Young Impact members will share their fundraising ideas some more and also hear some more about the work of these charities. Our Young Impact members have until the Grants Award day on Sunday 29 August to raise funds

At Young Impact100 SA we believe that ‘from little things, big things grow’.   For more details, please contact our chair Kath House, kathryn@impact100sa.org.au
